SINGAPORE – WIDTH celebrated its 12th anniversary in Singapore on 6 October 2026 under the theme "Building the Next Decade of Trust". Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Development, and Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), delivered remarks as Guest of Honour. Du Jun, Founder and Chairman of WIDTH, gave the welcome remarks, and Chionh Chye Kit, Co-founder and CEO, spoke on "12 Years, Together".
Twelve years, built from Singapore
WIDTH's story began in Singapore in 2014 with the founding of Cynopsis Solutions, which set out to use technology to reduce the manual work involved in customer due diligence. Twelve years on, WIDTH has served more than 500 institutions across 180 jurisdictions, spanning banking, payments, insurance, investment and digital assets. In 2026, WIDTH completed its brand consolidation, achieved ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 certification, and was named to the FinCrimeTech50 2026 list.
WIDTH Hub: developing compliance talent with ten partners
At the event, WIDTH introduced WIDTH Hub, an initiative led by WIDTH and launched jointly with its partners to develop the next generation of compliance and financial crime talent, with more than 10,000 professionals to be trained from 2027.
The launch partners are Techtanium, Ethikom Consultancy, the International Compliance Association (ICA), LSEG, the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA), the FinTech Association of Hong Kong, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, Beyondsoft, Elliptic and ChainUp.
WIDTH Platform: All-in-One Compliance Platform
The anniversary also marked the official launch of WIDTH Platform, which brings KYC, KYB, transaction monitoring, fraud detection and case management together in a single AI-native compliance and risk decision intelligence platform. At one bank, a six-person compliance team that had been working across four separate systems saw end-to-end case throughput reach 4.1 times its baseline.
Its core capabilities include:
- One platform: Onboarding, monitoring, investigation and decisioning run on a unified data and knowledge layer, connected by an AI-native compliance risk decision engine.
- AI-native: AI Workflow Builder puts AI directly into how workflows are built. WIDTH has also partnered with PathFin.ai.
- Configurable workflows: Screening, risk rating and approval steps can be configured to fit each business, with every step traceable.
- Risk visualisation: Graph Intelligence attaches an evidence subgraph to every alert, readable for the analyst and auditable for the regulator.
- Digital assets: DART (Digital Asset Risk Targeting) traces funds up to five hops back along on-chain paths and returns a 0–100 risk score together with the rules behind it.
Next stop: Hong Kong and the Middle East
WIDTH established its Hong Kong office in 2026 as its North Asia hub for Greater China, Japan and Korea, serving regional financial institutions and Chinese companies expanding overseas. A Middle East team is in preparation. Two new advisors were also introduced at the event: Bernard Law, former Deputy Head of Hong Kong's Joint Financial Intelligence Unit (JFIU), and Bryan Stirewalt, former Chief Executive of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
"Compliance systems need to move from static workflows to executable infrastructure."
Chionh Chye Kit, Co-founder & CEO, WIDTH
Over the next decade, WIDTH will continue to build on AI, all-in-one workflows and traceability.
